If I'm seeing a guy who is uncircumcised, should I be afraid? I've seen one before and they scare me. It's not like I can ask him to cut it off. HELP. –Tharon in New Jersey
Anna : On the bright side, it’s still sort of ambivalent whether circumcision is actually more hygienic or it’s just a big old financial racket for American hospitals, but yeah, I’ve heard they do look a little weird.
How much do you like the guy? If you like him a lot, you can probably overcome the—GAH, actually, I just Googled uncircumcised penises and changed my mind. That sh*t is a dealbreaker. I’m not gonna put Alf’s head in my mouth, and neither should you. Run!
Anthony : It’s actually NOT ambivalent, Anna. The World Health Organization has recommended increasing male circumcision in nations with high HIV/AIDS rates to help lower the risk of transmission. Male circumcision helps prevent other STDs, too !
Also, uncircumcised penises are f*cking disgusting. Ever heard of smegma? This is a true story: A friend of mine was uncircumcised (he’s French), and I frequently encouraged him to change that. I even offered to perform the procedure for $24.99, but he always refused. One day the gods heard my pleas and afflicted him with health problems related to his foreskin. He had to get circumcised.
As you can imagine, it was pretty painful. But now he claims he has to wear Magnum condoms. So, um, I don’t know. Uncircumcised penises are gross.
Obviously the ideal date for summer is taking your special lady (or ladyfriend, as may be) to the beach.
