At the ripe old age of 36, I can’t say there are many people I idolize. I think Justin Beiber is cute, but it stops there. OK, perhaps that is a bad example, but my point is, I’m too busy, and too in love with my family to idolize anyone.
However, there are certain people I can’t take my eyes off of because they inspire me to be a better mom, a better person and more importantly, they show me how.
That said, I can’t take my eyes off Sara Snow.
The Sara Snow's Fresh Living author and host of Discovery Health's "Get Fresh with Sara Snow" always seems to break down the idea of ‘going green’ for me. She not only makes it possible, she makes it seems easy.
In this day and age, there are so many new realities for parents; new responsibilities and challenges, than say, parenting 50 years ago. For many of us, going green falls to the bottom of our ‘to do’ lists. It is the least of our worries.
I think it falls there because on some subconscious level we feel it is just too time consuming and complicated. The beauty of Sara is she SHOWS us that it really isn’t.
I had the great honor of meeting with Sara a few days ago to talk about some simple tips to green-up our homes this winter, how motherhood has reshaped her outlook on other people's green choices, and her parents who modeled living sustainably for her.
She also discusses why she teamed up with Lipton for the Caring Communities Campaign and how Lipton has committed to sourcing all of its tea on sustainably managed farms by the year 2015, while giving us the chance to win a check for $25,000 to green-up our communities, and a sustainable trip to Kenya.
