Electric cars charge into Roanoke Valley
The van can smell the same. It looks the same too.
But when Du Jianhe turned the key in the ignition, the engine did not growl.

The popularity of the Prius coming "plug-in car can depend on its price, he said. Cars are not yet available, but interested buyers can register to order online.
Pete Hardigan, director of Ford's environmental policy, described his company's fuel supply.While some drivers may have daily driving habits that make sense with the hybrid or plug-in, others can not, he said.
For example, a typical hybrid car can not get great fuel economy with a daily commute along Interstate 81. But a short ride in heavy traffic would use gas more efficiently.
