Pro cycling race this week features Kremmling sprint

To mimic the European experience of popular road races, the U.S. Pro Cycling Challenge event encourages spectators to camp along highways. The Colorado State Patrol, in conjunction with the Colorado Department of Transportation and the U.S. Forest Service, is committed to keeping with this bicycle racing tradition of spectator access. Parking and camping will be allowed along the highway as long as it is in place no more than 24 hours in advance of the time the race is expected to pass, vehicles are parked off the traveled portion of the highway (including shoulders, gore points, divided highway areas and access to private property), all vehicles and trailers do not pose a safety risk to the motoring public, and all trash and debris are picked up when it's time to leave. Peloton — (from French, literally meaning little ball or platoon and also related to the English word pellet) is the large main group in a road bicycle race. May also be called the field, bunch, or pack. Riders in a group save energy by riding close (drafting or slipstreaming) to and, particularly behind, other riders. The reduction in drag is dramatic; in the middle of a well-developed group it can be as much as 40 percent. Leader Jersey — The Leader Jersey is awarded to the rider with the least amount of elapsed time over the entire race. Depending on each day's results, the Leader Jersey rider can change from stage to stage. Because the overall winner is based on lowest cumulative time, it is possible for a rider to win the Leader Jersey without winning a daily stage. The USA Pro Cycling Challenge maintains tradition with the coloring of the jersey but draws from the flag of other classic racing sports by transforming the jersey into a checkered yellow print. Other daily jerseys are awarded for sprinting and climbing achievements.

Steamboat Springs — A 19-year-old Pennsylvania human was arrested Wednesday on guess of hidden solid earrings valued at $14,000 to $18,000 from a Steamboat Springs lady May 22.

Donald James Struble has been charged by the Routt County District Attorney’s Office with crime theft. His bail has been set at $5,000. In justice Wednesday, Struble told Routt County Judge James Garrecht that he did not design to make bail.

On June 9, military arrested Jeremy Allen Girard on guess of hidden the earrings with Struble.

According to an confirmation filed with the justice by Steamboat Springs Police Department Detective Dave Kleiber, the group took the earrings May 22 whilst selling publication subscriptions to a lady who lives on Memphis Belle Court. The lady had taken the earrings off whilst cleaning and left them on a tray in her kitchen. She authorised two publication salesmen in to her kitchen and left momentarily to collect her credit card to pay for 3 subscriptions. That’s when the lady thinks her earrings were taken, the confirmation states.

Girard appeared in justice Wednesday in custody.

His attorney, Jeffery Weeden, mentioned he had been deliberating the box with the District Attorney’s Office.

“We’re seeking deliver to open space Mr. Girard’s name,” Weeden said.
