Systemax Inc. (NYSE:SYX) previously reported that Jay Kent has been hired as the Executive Vice President of Logistics, overseeing the group’s two fulfillment centers, supply chain and logistics operations. Mr. Kent has a 25 year career in retail logistics at Federated Department Stores, Toys “R” Us, Linens and Things, and most recently Kohl’s Department Stores. At his previous companies, Mr. Kent greatly reduced logistics costs to world-class levels; and implemented programs which significantly reduced labor expenses while significantly increasing distribution center productivity.
Systemax Inc. operates as a retailer of various brand name and private label products, including personal computers, notebook computers, consumer electronics, computer-related accessories, technology supplies.

Steelcase Inc. (NYSE:SCS) reported third quarter revenue of $672.6 million and net income of $18.3 million, or $0.14 per share, both ahead of company estimates. Excluding restructuring costs, adjusted earnings equaled $0.18 per share. Steelcase reported $616.1 million of revenue and break-even net income in the third quarter of the prior year. Organic revenue growth in the third quarter was 15 percent over the prior year after adjusting for negative impacts of $(21) million from the deconsolidation of dealers completed in the last twelve months and approximately $(10) million related to unfavorable currency translation effects. Growth was prevalent across most geographies and vertical markets.
Steelcase Inc., together with its subsidiaries, engages in the design, manufacture, and marketing of office furniture for corporate, hospitality, and residential settings in North America and internationally.

Prestige Brands Holdings Inc. (NYSE:PBH) announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire the assets associated with the Dramamine® business in the U.S. (“Dramamine”) from McNeil-PPC, Inc. for $76 million in cash. The transaction is expected to generate tax attributes with a present value of approximately $14 million, which would imply an effective purchase price of approximately $62 million. The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions, including clearance under the Hart-Scott Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act of 1976 and is expected to close prior to the end of January 2011.
